The Los Angeles Fire Department is the fire department for the city of Los Angeles, California. It was established in 1886 and employed over 3,574 fire fighters by the time of the global outbreak.
Pre-Apocalypse[]
The LAFD was the third largest municipal fire department in the United States at the time of the global outbreak.
Post-Apocalypse[]
The LAFD was first seen responding to a crash on a Los Angeles highway, alongside paramedics and members of the California Highway Patrol.
It can be assumed that the LAFD is inactive as of "The Dog" especially with the California National Guard taking control over the area. It is possible that the fire department suffered from mass desertion as there appears to be no fire department response in the wake of the riots that occurred in LA. Fires are seen burning out of control all over the city.
It is also possible that the LAFD suffered from large scale casualties responding to these fires early in the crises, where it can be assumed that the infected trapped in these buildings attacked and devoured the fire crews.
It can be implied that, owing to Los Angeles being bombed and totally engulfed in flames in "Monster", that the LAFD no longer exists.
