In the Season 6 finale, a nuke was launched, which devastated the state of Texas. Season 7 confirms that Alexandria and Shreveport were two of the ten cities that the nuclear warheads landed.
In the Season 7 finale, while escaping from Texas, Morgan ends up in a part of Louisiana that appears safe from the radiation.
