The M110 SASS is a version of the Knight's Armament SR-25 adopted by the US Army and USMC since 2005.
Pre-Apocalypse[]
The SASS is a sniper rifle used by the U.S. Military since 2005.
Post-Apocalypse[]
The Commonwealth Army owns at least one M110 SASS that they keep at the Police Department of the Commonwealth Army.
As the herd overruns the Commonwealth, Maggie Rhee retrieves an SASS from the Commonwealth's police station, intending to use it to assassinate Governor Pamela Milton. Knowing that it's likely to be a suicide mission, Negan attempts to take the rifle and do it himself instead. However, Maggie stops him, and Negan ultimately accompanies Maggie as her spotter. Before Maggie can take the shot, Colonel Vickers and Pamela's men turn on her and place Pamela under arrest under the orders of General Michael Mercer. With Negan calling prison a fate worse than death for someone like Pamela, Maggie relents and doesn't go through with the assassination.
A few minutes later, Pamela attempts to commit suicide by allowing a zombified Lance Hornsby to bite her in the neck through the gates of the Estates. Unwilling to allow Pamela to take the easy way out, Maggie shoots Lance in the head with her sniper rifle, putting him down and saving Pamela's life.
