―Marga tells Carol off through Justina.[src]

Doña Marga is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. She is a resident of Solaz del Mar.

Pre-Apocalypse

Spain

Not much is known about Marga's life prior to or as the outbreak began, except that she had at least two children, one of whom was Federico.

Post-Apocalypse

Season 3

"La Ofrenda"

After Roberto and Justina bring Daryl and Carol to Solaz del Mar for medical aid, Marga concocts an herbal remedy for Carol's infection. As Marga administers aid to Carol, her granddaughter Justina explains that she is a meiga and knows how to heal people.

The next day, Marga is present in the town square and watches from the doorway of her home as the Alcázar convoy arrives with Guillermo in the lead vehicle. A short time later, Marga is gathered in a room with the Ofrenda tributes, including her own granddaughter, as they get ready for the ceremony. She stands up and pays her respect to Elena when she enters the room. Marga is then present during the Ofrenda ceremony, standing next to her son Federico in anticipation as the pigs race down the street. When the tribute is announced, she cheers along with the rest of the townspeople.

That night, Marga is seated at the main table with Federico, Justina, Carmen, Alba, Elena, Guillermo, Daryl, and Carol. She is displeased by Carol's questioning of the practice. With Justina translating for her, Marga harshly rebukes Carol for questioning their ways in Solaz del Mar.

"El Sacrificio"

As Marga and Justina sew in their home, she compliments Justina on her compass. Justina asks her not to tell Federico about it, and Marga agrees to stay silent, commenting that she was young once, too. When Justina pricks her finger with the sewing needle, Marga instructs her to grab a clean bandage from Federico's office, stating that she can use a key hidden in a box on her uncle's desk to unlock the supply cabinet. She teases Justina that she may find chocolate from El Alcázar, too.

That night, Marga walks alone on the street, sobbing softly, as Carol and Antonio walk by. Carol asks Marga about Justina, but Marga does not respond, sending Carol and Antonio into the town square up the road.

"La Justicia Fronteriza"

As Federico stares longingly at an old photo, Marga reminds him that they both kept their promise to watch after Justina after her parents passed.

Later that day, Marga remains in her home during the attack on the town by Los Primitivos but saves Federico and Carol by shooting a charging Primitivo from the upper balcony of her home. Afterwards, she rushes downstairs to the square to tend to her injured son. She and the other surviving residents in the square are horrified as they witness catapults of flaming walkers being launched into the town by Los Primitivos.

"Limbo"

After Carol and Antonio return to Solaz del Mar with an injured Roberto, Marga tends to him along with Lupe. Marga later finds Justina's compass in Roberto's possession and confronts her son about it, but Fede lies to Marga about how Roberto got the compass.

"Contrabando"

Marga approaches Fede in his office and provides a status report on her patients, mentioning that Rodrigo is recovering from his burns sustained in the Primitivo attack and Gemma's water recently broke. She is about to go and tend to Roberto when Fede convinces her to tend to pregnant Gemma instead, and that Doña Lupe will look after Roberto. Marga teases her son about the woman that he's madly in love with and won't tell her about, and urges Fede to find someone else to spend his life with.

After Roberto unexpectedly takes a turn for the worse, Carol breaks into Fede's office to steal medicine, where she finds Justina's compass necklace before being confronted at gunpoint by Marga. With the old woman not speaking or understanding English, Carol attempts to use the limited Spanish that she had learned from Valentina to make Marga understand that Fede is a liar, telling her the truth about the compass necklace. Carol realizes that Fede is poisoning Roberto, having seen Antonio's cat dead while on her way to Fede's office. Eventually convinced of the truth and moved by Carol's pleas, Marga provides Carol with the medicine that she needs to counteract Roberto's poisoning.

"Solaz del Mar"

Marga walks through the streets of Solaz del Mar and notices many townspeople giving her looks and whispering to each other, quietly commenting about Antonio's claims about Federico rigging the Ofrenda ceremonies and poisoning Roberto. Ignoring the gossiping neighbors, Marga enters her home and confronts her son about all the rumors being said. Federico claims they are all lies, and Marga reassures him that she believes him, but that he needs to convince the townspeople as well.

When Justina suddenly returns to Solaz del Mar just as Antonio, Roberto, and Carol are about to be executed in the town square, Marga slaps her son and demands he save her granddaughter. Later that day, as Federico sits in his jail cell, Marga brings him a plate of food, which he denies. He then convinces his mother to let him out of the cell so the townspeople don't kill him, to which she complies.

Trivia

  • According to Justina in "La Ofrenda", Marga is a meiga. A meiga is a witch.
  • While Marga was credited as a Guest Star for the majority of her appearances, she was credited as a co-star for "Contrabando".
  • In "Contrabando", it's confirmed that Marga neither speaks nor understands English. She had previously used Justina for translations in "La Ofrenda", but it wasn't clear if she at least understood what was being said in English, particularly given Marga's reaction to Carol's questions.
