Matthew's Knife is a large survival knife owned by Matthew. It has the initials WM on the sheath, standing for Walter and Matthew, and a small skull design on the base of the blade.
Post-Apocalypse[]
When the outbreak starts, Walter gives the knife to his partner, Matthew. At the time of his death, Matthew had it stored on a shelf in the Station House.
"A House Divided"[]
After Matthew is killed by Nick, Clementine finds the knife and uses it to pry open a trunk containing food. Clementine takes the knife for herself, keeping it in her backpack which she places on a bench when the Cabin Group arrives at Moonstar Lodge. Upon deducing who Nick had killed, Clementine goes to hide the knife, only to find it gone from her bag and Walter outside holding it. Walter tells Clementine that he had already deduced that Matthew is dead and finding the knife had only confirmed it for him. When Nick comes out, Walter appears to consider stabbing him to death in revenge, but he throws the knife away instead.
When a herd attacks the lodge, Clementine finds Matthew's knife sticking out of the ground while she's under attack by a walker. Grabbing the knife, Clementine crawls under a table and manages to stab the walker, putting it down. Clementine leaves the knife sticking out of the walker's head as she flees.
The knife is later recovered by Carver's Group and it was then taken by Jane when the Cabin Group escaped from Howe's Hardware.
"No Going Back"[]
Jane stabs Vitali in the back of the neck, giving Kenny the chance to kill him.
Jane later uses this knife in her fight against Kenny, however Kenny gets the upper hand in the fight and uses the knife to stab Jane in the leg and can determinately kill her with it if Clementine chooses not to shoot him.
