Matthew Shaw is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead. He is Leah's adopted son.

Nothing is known about Matthew's life prior to or as the outbreak began, aside from the fact that his mother died in childbirth and he was adopted by his aunt, Leah Shaw.
Post-Apocalypse

"Find Me"
While discussing events related to losing their loved ones that broke them, Leah tells Daryl she had an adopted son whose mother - who was like a sister to Leah - died giving birth to him. She goes on to explain that, one night, when her group was attacked by a large herd, Matthew was bitten, and that she didn't realize until they had run for miles and found an abandoned cabin. Matthew later either succumbed to the infection or was put down out of mercy by Leah before he could turn, and was in turn buried in the backyard by his grieving adoptive mother.
