I have a question about Andre's name. Recently we found out that Michonne's surname (In the TV Series) is Hawthorne. I have noticed that because of that, someone changed Andre Anthony's name to Andre Anthony Hawthorne. I am confused now. Hawthorne is Michonne's last name, similar to the comics, but in the comics it's her married name whereas here it is implied to be her maiden name ergo Andre's last name would not be Hawthorne. Furthermore, it was Andre Anthony originially so thus I must now as if Anthony is his middle name or last name (and thus Mike's last name) especially since we don't include middle names in the title of a page (with the exception of Tammy Rose Sutton for some odd reason that I still don't completely understand). I just have a lot of confusion in regards to this character's name right now & hope you can explain it further.
Hello, I don’t really know the circumstances around her last name as I am avoiding Onslaught due to spoilers so idk the context on how they used her last name. As for Andre, I believe his full first name is Andre Anthony, unless it was specified that “Anthony” is his middle name, but I never perceived it as that, hence his page name being “Andre Anthony”. I’m indifferent if we add “Hawthorne” to his page title but if so, it should be Andre Anthony Hawthorne. “Tammy Rose” is that character’s (first) name. “Rose” isn’t her middle name, it’s part of her two-word first name, so the page is appropriately titled Tammy Rose Sutton. In the comics, I think that was her name as well (Tammy Rose) but readers misinterpreted “Rose” as her last name (idk if they ever referred to her/her family as Mr. or Mrs. Rose, or the Rose Family, etc)
Hey Mister T. Hope you're been well. So TNH brought this up, but I wanted to check with you just in case. Since Episode 10x16 and the World Beyond premiere are both coming out tomorrow on AMC Premiere, I thought it'd be a good idea to lock the episode and character pages in like 7 hours or so. That alright?
I hope you're excited for the season finale of Walking Dead (finally arriving) and the premiere of World Beyond! With the premiere of the latter, do you have plans on adding a section on the mainpage character section to include World Beyond after the premiere?
I've also noticed the mobile main page is currently featuring Walking Dead season 8 and FTWD season 4. Would you mind if we adjusted it to feature the latest seasons?
Thank you and hope your community is ready for Walking Dead to return to TV!
Hey TimeShade - very much excited for the season finale (hence my caution on the wiki atm - spoilers are supposedly out) as well as World Beyond!
I took a look at Template:Mainpage Box Characters and think it would be great to add World Beyond to it. I may need your assistance in setting it up. I would definitely want to include Hope, Iris, Felix, Huck, Elton, Silas, Elizabeth, and even Leopold to get a solid 8 characters on display.
As for updating the mobile version - absolutely, I didn't realize it was showing up outdated for mobile users (I always default to the desktop version on my phone).
According to special:tagsReport?target=tabview there are 28 pages on this community that uses tabview. After reviewing them, it appears they are used to divide the casting types.
As with tabs, there are some issues, such as the discrepancy between mobile and desktop views. As well as users typically not clicking beyond the initial tab.
While initially a best practice, it has become a technical necessity in a short time. As your community prepares for UCP, we know that these pages will break outright if changes are not made prior to migration. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks!
So, are you suggesting that the tabs be removed or changed? Is there a format/different option similar to tabs? Do you know what other wikis have done to resolve the issue of tabs (ie. using a different method or format to display the information used in tabs). In the meantime, I gave a heads up to the rest of the admins about this. Thank you for letting me know!
Got it, I'm thinking instead of tabs, doing something like collapsible sections for each cast list for the episode pages. So its sort of like tabs, and will allow for users to select what "tab" they want to view, without having a giant cast list on the episode page.
We discovered Tabber seems to work and maintains the same look. I saw on Community Central that it was fine but the Tabview was going away. I checked the Tabber format on the desktop site and it works as intended, and on mobile, it appears as a standard list which is fine as well, since that was going to be the route we were going to originally take (just do a list, maybe with collapsibles). On the mobile site, Tabview didn’t work and only displayed the template links used in each tab.
Hi Mistertrouble, in case you haven't heard the latest update, chat is being retired. Has there been active use of the feature? I know it was once actively used, but the community also now uses a dedicated Discord.
The chat feature will remain on legacy platforms until the migration to UCP.
Hey TimeShade, I did read MisterWoodhouse's blog post about chat. I would say no, the chat hasn't really be utilized in the past couple years. When it first came out, it was poppin, but now everyone uses Discord (including myself).
Just letting you know that I have reported some racist things I saw around here to special contact. In my initial report I mentiond that the main admin here ( you ) has not done anything about it, but now I feel bad because I actually do not know if you even seen the things I reported as they are somewhat old.
The people who I reported were never banned for it so I just assumed you knew of it and done nothing. I should have spoken to you about it first and for that I apologise. If you did in fact see it though and still chose not to act then it is a different story.
So yeah, im just letting you know that you may have to answer some questions to staff soon, if they decide to take it seriously that is.
after typing this out I will recontact Special Contact using the previous reference number, telling them that you may not have seen the things I reported at first, but I will also mention that as of writing to them again you have now infact saw it.
Again, sorry for not contacting you first like I should have. Thank you for your time.
Hello, thanks for your note, since you already contacted the Fandom staff, I will let them take the lead on this. In the meantime, I will remove any of the offensive words I come across in the posts you linked. Many of the users who used that kind of language are no longer associated with the wiki. As for that particular admin, the team has dealt with it internally. Thanks.
I've noticed that in the past day or so a user called The Fancy Fedora had changed/renamed every single Typhoon character page. To give you an example of what I'm talking about, this is what he did "Chen Wenzhu (Novel Series)" to "Chen Wehnzhu (Typhoon)". Because of that, there have been several problems across all the Typhoon pages, namely broken links now. My question is was he allowed to do this? and if so, what was the reason behind it? As far as it seems to me, the Typhoon characters are Novel characters so why the change? Admittedly, I don't think that I would've had as much of a problem with it had he also fixed the links but all he did was rename the page without correcting any of the links.
I permitted him to do so. We agreed that since the Typhoon story has nothing to do with the Woodbory saga, it should have a different suffix, even though it takes place in the same universe. The same logic applied to Alone, Together characters and Here's Negan characters. Nothing is stopping you from fixing the links yourself.
That I presumed given how the info was coming in. I was just unsure about if the character pages gad to be renamed especially withg the issue of th broken link but its all been explained as seen above. You're good mate, no need to worry
I'm not sure what exactly you are asking, perhaps an explanation of why certain characters are in those categories? If so, read on:
With the conclusion of Season 5 for Fear, all of the caravan survivors were taken in by Virginia and her Pioneers, and in addition to what we saw in the Season 6 trailer, the caravan survivors have integrated into the communities run by the Pioneers, thus making them Pioneers.
In regards to Carol, Rick, Jesus, Abraham, Beta having the Fear category, it's because Carol, Rick, and Jesus briefly appeared in the Fear Season 5 premiere talking to Morgan, trying to get him to stay in Virginia. Because of their cameo, they get the Fear category. Beta is in the category because his face appeared on an album cover that Daniel and Grace had in Season 5 - Beta used to be a performer called "Half Moon". Lastly, Abraham is in the Fear category because we know Althea met him and has a interview tape with him.
Hey Mr. T. Hope all is well. So today I noticed that the line break or "<'br'>" is causing some minor visual issues in source mode of the classic editor, namely it makes the whole text after it highlighted in red. I don't know why this is an issue all of a sudden, but I also noticed it doesn't happen if <'br/'> is used instead, like on some other wikis. Should we start fixing pages, or look for another solution?
EDIT: I had to add apostrophes in the command because it wouldn't show up otherwise.
That's odd, I've always generally used <br> when needing a line break. Has this been a consistent issue on your behalf or something you've noticed over the past couple days? I'd say lets wait and see in case there's a kink on Fandom's side. If nothing, perhaps we can contact User:TimeShade for input before making wiki wide changes? He may be better assistance than me in regards to this coding glitch.
So I noticed that you reverted the edits on Tobin, Carter, Bruce, & Francines pages about the deaths. About how they may have or have not killed anyone while at the construction site. I just wanted to say my side & see your side further to get a better understanding.
You said it was bold for me to assume such a thing, but I don't think it was. First off, I said possibly meaning that there's a chance that it never happened. Furthermore, we know people from Alexandria died before Ricks group got there. Granted, aside from Will, we dont know how/when/where they died but I think it's possible that some of the graves seen in Alexandria (Carter Dilley, Jeremy Freeborn, Alvin Jerry, Annabel Culver, Brian Struzan, Kim Myso, Jessica Molla, Elizabeth Browne, Lucy Wong) could have been construction crew members. Also, I rewatched the scene just to make sure that I wasn't misreading anything/making sure that I wasnt making a bold assumption, and when Abe asked Tobin if that's how they do things around here Tobin says that that's their system. I think given all this, I do think that there's a possibility that this could have happened in the past. But whats your take on it?
So my first thoughts reading upon that was "wow, are we suggesting Tobin and the Alexandrians are so chicken shit that they routinely sacrifice their people the minute a walker shows up?" I see where you are coming from though, and we know the S5 Alexandrians have been pretty timid and not surprising they choose run away in face of danger. But there's so many ways those pre-S5 Alexandrians could have died, such as: suicide, being bitten by a walker, illness/pre-exisiting condition, accident that results in injury and later death, murdered by bandits/raiders, external world factors (such as being on a supply run or scouting mission), etc. While it's fun to speculate how they may have died, I don't think we need to start adding all possibilities to pages. We do however know that Aiden and Nicholas have abandoned or left behind other supply runners in face of danger and some have died, including Will and 4 others (someone told me this, I am checking up with him to find out when/where it was said), so we could use this a possible death for Kim Myso, Jeremy Freeborn, and the rest of them. But I don't think we have enough concrete info to say other construction workers have died, unless it was said a couple have died as a result of being on that team, then I stand corrected.
Alternatively, maybe a note can be added under trivia on the construction site location page that other Alexandrians may have died? Preferably if it was hinted others have died in the past. I think Tobin's stance on "this is what we do here" is referring to the fact that they all run and don't know how to fight anytime a walker is seen (we get a taste of this in 601 when they build a deterrent wall on the road), not that its a pattern where they actively abandon their people.
