Nothing is known about the houseboat's history before the outbreak.
Post-Apocalypse[]
Following his escape from PADRE with Mo, Morgan Jones finds this abandoned houseboat in a Georgiaswamp that's overrun by walkers and settles here for a time. However, a herd eventually attacks the houseboat and starts to pull it underwater. Unable to put down all of the walkers, Morgan contacts PADRE for help and they rescue Mo and eventually Morgan, leaving the houseboat abandoned once again.
Seven years after being returned to PADRE, Mo suffers from flashbacks of the attack on the houseboat, causing her to hesitate when she faces walkers.
After fleeing into the swamp with Mo and Madison Clark, Morgan leads them to the houseboat which is surrounded by walkers half-buried in the water, but safe as long as they don't draw attention to themselves. However, a herd drawn by PADRE's search for the group and Mo's attempt to kill Madison begins pulling the houseboat under water, causing it to partially sink. Mo realizes that this is the same thing that happened last time and Morgan finally explains the attack on the houseboat seven years ago and how he called PADRE to save his daughter.
Unable to wait for PADRE to possibly rescue them, the group decides to fight their way out. Madison stays behind to distract the walkers while Morgan and Mo go out the side of the houseboat with less walkers, fighting their way through the swamp before Mo's foot gets stuck. Morgan puts down a number of walkers as Mo tries to free herself, but the two come close to get overrun. Madison draws the nearest walkers to herself by banging her sledgehammer on the houseboat's wall, attempting to sacrifice herself for her friends. Before the walkers can kill Madison, Grace arrives in a boat and shoots the walkers attacking Madison. The group then escapes in Grace's boat before any more walkers can arrive and Grace explains that she had deduced that Morgan would go to the houseboat after hearing the radio chatter about what was going on.
After returning to PADRE, Mo is able to confidently face walkers after finding out the truth of her flashbacks of the first houseboat attack.
On the walls is written "Duane, Jenny, you were supposed to..." and King County, Georgia. This is a reference to Morgan's lost family who died in King County as depicted in "Days Gone Bye" and "Clear". It also foreshadows Morgan's return there in "King County" to lay his lost family to rest.
In "King County", Mo reveals that she had figured out where Morgan was going from the writing on the houseboat walls.
