Nick's Revolver is a Colt Single Action Army given to Nick Clark by Jeremiah Otto. It originally belonged to Russell Brown before his suicide.
Pre-Apocalypse[]
At some point, Jeremiah Otto came into possession of a nickel-plated Colt Single Action Army with ivory grips that he gave to Russell Brown when Russell and his wife Martha moved into the old adobe on Broke Jaw Ranch. The couple hung the gun above the doorway.
Post-Apocalypse[]
Russell Brown originally owns this gun. After his wife dies in her sleep and reanimates, Russell uses it to shoot both himself and Martha in the head at the same time.
Following Russell's death, the damaged gun is found by Jeremiah Otto while Nick Clark is working on rebuilding Russell's house. Jeremiah quips that the Colt Single Action Army is "how the West was won" and calls it a beautiful gun which Nick thinks is a contradiction. Jeremiah tells Nick that the craftsmanship that went into the gun is "a goddamn work of art", but Nick doesn't think that guns are works of art or a tool which is also how Jeremiah refers to guns. Jeremiah tells Nick that he gave the gun to Russell when he and Martha had first moved into the house, and they hung it over the door.
After restoring the gun from the damage that the fire had caused, Jeremiah gives it to Nick. The two later do target practice together and a drunken Jeremiah uses the Colt Single Action Army to shoot up the floor of the house, telling Nick that there's blood in the Earth, eventually inspiring Nick to dig up his floorboards and find a skull. Nick uses the gun throughout his time as a part of the ranch's militia, shooting a zombified Gretchen Trimbol with it after Madison hesitates to shoot. When Jeremiah refuses to commit suicide and sacrifice himself to save the ranch from a vengeful Qaletaqa Walker, Nick kills him with the gun that Jeremiah gave him and Madison frames it as a suicide by placing the gun in Jeremiah's hand.
