“ | This was our home. My mother and my grandmother found this place for the group. There were so many of us then. Men and women... kids. My mom and I built a garden. Me and my brother used to play right here. But then the Saviors came. And Simon wanted what we had. He gave us our final warning. Afterward, we ran. And we tried to forget. But then your people came and asked us to fight. We did because we couldn't forget. After Rick ended it, we went along because we didn't think we had a choice. Until you hung Gregory. That's when we knew. Rick's rules aren't the only rules. You showed us the way. It was time. (...) They murdered my mother. She shot my brother right here. And they took everything because they could.

Oceanside's Revenge is a major event that occurred during the first few episodes of the ninth season of AMC's The Walking Dead.
History[]
Following the end of the Savior Conflict and the execution of Gregory, the residents of Oceanside decide to exact revenge upon the surviving Saviors who had massacred their previous home. During the bridge construction work, Oceanside captures six Saviors and takes them to their former home where they are each executed by a resident who had lost a loved one to that particular Savior.
Oceanside eventually captures Justin who is executed by Beatrice with her spear gun, Justin having murdered her husband. However, Justin eventually reanimates and is found by Maggie and Kal and put down, exposing the revenge murders. Oceanside's actions lead to renewed tensions between the Militia and the Saviors as the groups try to figure out who the culprits are.
In the midst of the investigation into their actions, Oceanside abducts Arat, the last of their targets. After finding one of Beatrice's spears, Daryl deduces that Oceanside is responsible. Maggie and Daryl confront the women as they prepare to execute Arat, only to stand down when they learn that it is revenge for the Saviors' massacre of their people. Cyndie describes how Arat had murdered her murdered her little brother despite Cyndie begging for his life. Arat insists that she's changed and that she had no choice as Simon would've killed her too, but Cyndie makes Arat admit that she'd told Cyndie "no exceptions" before shooting her brother. Daryl and Maggie walk away and allow Cyndie to execute Arat with a spear to the back of her head, planning to go after Negan for their own revenge.
