The PADRE Exiles is a group of survivors introduced in Season 8 of AMC's Fear the Walking Dead. They were created by Ben Krennick out of PADRE forces loyal to himself who were exiled from the island following the defeat of the Krennick siblings. They served as the primary antagonistic group of the episode "Fighting Like You".
Overview[]
Led by Ben Krennick, the group is made up of former PADRE Collectors and/or guards who were banished from the island following the defeat of Ben and his sister, presumably for their deeds or continuing loyalty to Ben. Their main goal is to retake the island for themselves as Ben believes that it rightfully belongs to him as Ben and his sister built and ran it for 12 years operating out of a barge that allowed them to collect supplies from a PADRE cargo ship until the group ran out of gas. The group mainly relies on melee weapons and pistols, although they have a working truck.
Due to their low numbers and limited weaponry, the group mainly relies on stealth and ambush tactics, laying a pit trap and a log trap, both of which got Troy Otto. Ben also attempted to negotiate with Troy for his group's help in retaking PADRE in return for a place on the island for them.

"Fighting Like You"[]
While attempting to lead a massive herd to PADRE, Troy Otto falls into one of the group's traps which smashes his truck off of the road. Later, while fleeing from Madison, Troy falls into another of the group's traps, this time a large pit, leading to Madison and Troy's capture by Ben and his forces.
The exiles take Madison and Troy to their barge where Ben reveals his history with Madison to Troy, noting that he'd have died like Shrike if June hadn't spared Ben and exiled him instead. Having heard the radio transmissions revealing Troy's Group's efforts to take PADRE for themselves and about Troy's daughter, Ben offers Troy a place on PADRE if he will call off his forces, but Troy refuses to make a deal with him. Instead, Ben and three of the exiles take the two to find the herd instead, but they are attacked by Daniel and Luciana who kill two of Ben's men and rescue Madison and Troy while Ben and the other exile are left to fight off a herd on their own, leading to the death of the other man.
Later, as Madison and Troy travel through a swamp to find Troy's herd, Ben attacks them, shooting Madison's radio and chasing them onto a rickety bridge over the swamp. Rather than just shooting them, Ben cuts the rope of the bridge, dumping Madison and Troy into a walker filled area of the swamp that's like quicksand, sucking down anything that falls into it. Ben fires a warning shot at the two, intending to let the walkers or the mud get them, content with letting Madison die in the swamp to make up for what happened to Shrike rather than taking PADRE back. While Troy begs to be let go to get to his daughter, Ben uses it as proof that he and Shrike were right all along and reveals that they had rescued Madison from the Fall of the Stadium because they knew that they could use Madison's love for her kids to get her to do their bidding. Spotting walkers approaching the distracted Ben, Madison shouts to draw their attention and the walkers devour Ben after he quickly runs out of bullets. After the two go underwater, Troy is able to grab a root, pull them out, and use Ben's axe to break their cuffs.
It's unknown what happened to the remaining two exiles after the deaths of their leader and the majority of the group.

- Troy inadvertently falling into one of the group's traps led to his alliance with Madison and Troy helping her to stop his group's attack on PADRE. Ironically, the exiles ended up uniting Madison and Troy because of an attack by their common enemy.
- The PADRE Exiles are the final antagonistic group introduced in the show and the final group introduced overall.
