The PADRE Shipyard is a location in Season 8 of AMC's Fear the Walking Dead. It is a massive shipyard containing the resources stockpiled by the US government in case of a need to rebuild in the event of a doomsday scenario.
At an unknown point, the US government stocked this shipyard with hundreds of shipping containers full of supplies, holding enough to build a number of new communities at coordinates carefully chosen the U.S. Military.
Post-Apocalypse[]
Major General Krennick and PADRE used the supplies stored in the shipyard to build themselves an island sanctuary somewhere in Georgia.
Following Operation Cobalt and PADRE making contact with Senator Elias Vazquez, Krennick decided to begin distribution of the supplies contained in the shipyard in order to help other survivors with rebuilding the world, PADRE's true purpose. However, unknown to Krennick and his men, at least one other survivor had taken up residence in the shipyard which was eventually overrun by the undead. Before either leaving or being killed, the survivor had left a warning on a shipping container reading "DEAD HERE." PADRE learned of this too late and Krennick and his men were devoured by the herd, reanimating and becoming a part of it. Only Sam and Ben Krennick survived because their father boosted them up onto a shipping container.
After escaping from the shipyard, the siblings purposefully left it overrun with thousands of walkers in order to protect the supplies within. As a result, the shipyard remained mostly undisturbed by survivors for 12 years. However, at least parts of it remained accessible as the Gearheads were able to raid some of the containers for supplies for their operation.
Shrike visits the shipyard and informs her brother that it's time to clear it out and begin PADRE's expansion. Shrike intends to use the children that she and Ben had trained to clear out the walkers so that they can get at the supplies.
Standing outside of the shipyard next to a large machine gun, Shrike contacts Morgan and offers him a deal to help save Grace in exchange for Morgan clearing out the shipyard for her. Morgan accepts the deal with Daniel's Resistance agreeing to help too as they have the firepower to take care of all of the walkers. However, Daniel and his people back out when Shrike reveals that the job needs to be done by hand because one stray bullet could set off the fertilizer and stored munitions in the containers, destroying it all. As a result, the deal between the two sides breaks down.
After Grace's death, Mo agrees to join the PADRE forces in clearing out the shipyard with Shrike telling her that the containers hold the supplies that they need to build new communities all across the country. Devastated by her mother's death and not wanting to feel that kind of pain again, Mo ignores her father's warnings that she's just going to get herself killed trying to get rid of all of the walkers. Shrike, recalling Morgan's skill with his old battle axe, laments that he didn't use it that day to help with the shipyard.
