“ | The times we're living in... they're testing us all... they are testing our belief... they're testing our faith. Where is God? Has He abandoned us? Is He watching? Even I have wondered... What kind of God would test us like this? But then I looked inward... and found that the answer to my question... lay in the question itself. The God I believe... the god I know... wouldn't do such thing. This is not God! The thing... this evil that's befallen us... wants us to turn away from him... to turn us away from our Faith. It feeds on our doubt. Do not give into it. Do not feed it. Do not give into it! We will fight... this evil... We will defeat this by surviving it!

"Sicut Cervus"[]
The priest is at his church giving a sermon to surviving members of his congregation. It is a heated sermon where he rallies his parishioners to arm themselves and take down the "evil", referring to the zombies in the Abigail estate wine cellar. After communion is served, he and his congregation rush outside to grab their weapons to begin the assault. However, Thomas Abigail pleads for them to stop, when suddenly he and his congregation begin bleeding from their eyes, having been poisoned by Celia and her tainted communion wafers. Before dying, he tells Thomas that Celia was responsible.
After Madison's group arrives, the zombified priest and his parishioners attack them. After a brief struggle, Daniel Salazar stabs the priest in the head and puts him down.
Later, after seeing Celia prepare more poisoned communion wafers for Victor Strand and Thomas, Daniel realizes that it was Celia who had killed the priest and his parishioners. Due to her belief that the undead are simply what comes next, Celia tells Daniel that it was him and the others who had actually killed the group.
