Quentin LaRouche was a vile, sadistic slave owner. A man so twisted, he joked that he painted his walls with the blood of those he kept as slaves. There were rumors LaRouche had hidden in his house a secret torture chamber where he subjected his slaves to agonizing pain. One night, his prisoners rose up, dismembering and skinning LaRouche in a blood-soaked voodoo ritual. His death was so shocking, no one entered LaRouche House for nearly one hundred and twenty years.
Sarah Bennett talking about LaRouche on her podcast

Quentin LaRouche is a character mentioned in "The Skeptics Guide to New Orleans". He is the former owner of the infamous LaRouche House.

Pre-Apocalypse[]

New Orleans, Louisiana[]

Quentin was a cruel slave owner that enjoyed torturing and killing his captives, so much so that he had a secret torture chamber in the basement of his house and used to brag about painting the walls with the blood of slaves. The slaves eventually revolted, however, and tortured Quentin to death in revenge. More than a hundred years later, the Brill family moved into the house, but were eventually arrested for brutally murdering 12 people. The family claimed that Quentin's ghost commanded them to kill in the same way he did. Since then, the haunting of the LaRouche House has been one of the most widely believed myths in the city of New Orleans, with kids not even daring to dare other kids to go inside.

Post-Apocalypse[]

Supernatural Skeptics Guide to New Orleans[]

Sarah arrives to the LaRouche house with the aim of debunking the myth of its haunting. Quentin is mentioned as an example of how people use the supernatural to essentially mask the fact that monsters like Quentin could exist. Sarah later discovers Quentin's torture chamber, and in it a straw dummy dressed up in a Confederate Army officer's uniform, which she deduces is Quentin's. Sebastian also reveals that he still communicates with "Quentin".
