I'm sorry. This is the only way I could think of to save Julien. I'm sure you would've done the same for your Daryl, no?
―Rémy to Carol on why he betrayed her.[src]

Rèmy is a former antagonist and a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.

Overview[]

Rèmy is a civil man who cares greatly for his husband Julien. His affable nature allows him to quickly become friends with Carol. However, Rèmy will always choose the safety of his husband above all else, shown when he gives information about Carol to Genet in order to save Julien, which he shows remorse over.

Pre-Apocalypse[]

France[]

Nothing is known about Rèmy's life prior to or as the outbreak began except for the fact that he was an English teacher and was possibly in a relationship with Julien.

Post-Apocalypse[]

Season 2[]

"Moulin Rouge"[]

Rèmy and his husband Julien are among the hungry survivors in Paris to gather at a marketplace set up by the Power of the Living. He listens as Sabine draws everyone's attention, telling them that it's just a small taste of what Maison Mère has to offer them which includes hot food, warm beds, water and wine. Simple pleasures everyday and the return of order, but only if they're willing to support Genet. Everyone volunteers and Sabine orders the Guerriers to pick 20 of them, in which Rèmy and Julien among those selected. He and Julien are separated into different trucks despite his pleas to remain together. He boards a truck along with Carol, and several others and introduces himself to Carol, before being driven to the Power of the Living's headquarters. As it turns to night, Rèmy tells Carol what he knows about the Power of the Living and expresses concern when the truck with Julien heads in a different direction upon arriving at Maison Mère.

"L'Invisible"[]

The work coordinator assigns jobs to all of the volunteers, directing Carol to the kitchens and Rèmy to the stables. Rèmy translates the instructions for Carol, pleased with his assignment because his husband Julien grew up on a farm, so maybe he was sent there too. Carol doubts that she's going to find Daryl in a kitchen, and quips that the only horses that he likes are the steel kind. Rèmy explains that all of the preparations are for an attack on the Union of Hope, although nobody knows for sure where the Union is hiding out.

The two follow the Guerriers as they lead 6 prisoners to where Dr. LaFleur is set up in an outdoors area. The Guerriers kill the prisoners, and Dr. Lafleur injects them each with 20 milligrams of the Amper Serum, ordering his assistant to time the transition while another group of prisoners is similarly executed. As they watch, Rèmy tells Carol that there have been rumors of experiments being conducted by the Power of the Living and some say that that's where the burners came from: a mistake that got loose rather than a natural variant of the Wildfire Virus. Genet is trying to make a stronger breed of zombie and two of the test subjects reanimate as Ampers and rush the Guerriers, but they are quickly put down. Dr. Lafleur orders his assistant to back off the dose of Amper Serum as they need soldiers that they can control. Rèmy worries that Julien and Daryl may suffer the same fate, but Carol promises him that they'll get to Daryl and Julien first. A Guerrier catches Carol and Rèmy and orders them to leave unless they want to become test subjects themselves. Carol heads off to look for Daryl and Julien, instructing her friend to check out the stables and look busy, promising to find him later.

Carol discusses what she's learned from Stéphane Codron with Rèmy who tells her that it can only be Mont-Saint-Michel which is just a few hours' drive away. Carol asks Rèmy to come with her, but he can't go without Julien. Carol hugs her friend goodbye and they wish each other luck before she leaves.

Sabine leads Carol to Genet's office where Rèmy and Julien are sitting, Remy having betrayed Carol in exchange for the return of his husband. Genet states that information is a commodity and Rèmy apologizes to Carol as this was the only way that he could think of to save Julien, guessing that she would've done the same thing for Daryl. Genet tells the two men that Sabine will take them both back to Paris and drop them wherever they like, and they leave with Sabine.

Their current fates are unknown.
