Sabine is an antagonist and a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. She is the second-in-command of Power of the Living.

After Genet's unexpected demise, Sabine assumed control of the Guerrier army in Mont-Saint-Michel, but was unable to save the movement from collapsing elsewhere. Still, she retained command of a significant faction. Unlike Genet, Sabine did not have qualms with using religion to further the cause, and decided to join forces with Losang. She and her soldiers then became members of the Union of Hope.

When Losang died during a fight against Daryl Dixon at the Catacombs of Paris, Jacinta became the de-facto leader of both factions, thus making Sabine also the de-facto second-in-command of the Union of Hope, until Jacinta's death. She served as the tertiary antagonist of Season 2 and the secondary antagonist of the episode "Au Revoir Les Enfants".

Overview[]

Sabine is a loyal, high-ranking member of Power of the Living. She seems to follow any task needed.

Pre-Apocalypse[]

France[]

Nothing is known about Sabine's life prior to or as the outbreak began except that she worked at the Louvre as a janitor along with Marion Genet. She was also the head activist of the nationwide janitor strikes that seeks for better health care benefits.

Post-Apocalypse[]

Paris, Île-de-France[]

At some point following the outbreak, Sabine became a soldier for a political movement called Power of the Living and eventually rise up through the ranks as the movement's second-in-command.

Season 2[]

"Moulin Rouge"[]

At a market set up in Maison Mère, Sabine draws everyone's attention, telling them that it's just a small taste of what Maison Mère has to offer them which includes hot food, warm beds, water, and wine. Simple pleasures everyday and the return of order, but only if they're willing to support Genet. Everyone volunteers and Sabine orders the Guerriers to pick 20 of them. As the Guerriers begin to pick from the crowd, Carol tries to hide in one of the transport trucks, but she's caught and fights back, but is quickly forced to surrender. Sabine is impressed with Carol's guts, and selects her as one of the 20. Rèmy argues when he is separated from his husband Julien and placed into separate vehicles.

Later, Sabine visits a cell where Genet is brutally torturing Stéphane Codron personally for information. Sabine reports that they got 19 volunteers in all and she tries to convince Genet that Stéphane doesn't know anything. However, Genet simply tells Sabine that someone had taught her years ago to never give in. Sabine promises to prepare the Atelier and she leaves. Genet tells Stéphane that Sabine is her right arm, a job that could've been his. Genet reveals that her mother was a waitress at a small cafe in Pigalle and some bankers came in one night half drunk and convinced themselves to buy the most expensive bottle worth 1,200 francs. Genet's mother was so nervous that she broke the cork and she was given a choice by her boss to pay back the money or to be fired. Genet's mother taught her that the secret to a stuck cork is patience and to not pull too hard or too gently, but to tease it out instead.

"L'Invisible"[]

In a flashback, a docent shows the Mona Lisa to a crowd of tourists at the Louvre. Three American teenagers playing on their phones spill a soda and Marion Genet, working as a museum janitor, is sent by her supervisor to clean it up, much to her frustration. Sabine tells Genet not to let the older woman talk to her like that, but Genet is more sympathetic, having heard that the woman's husband has cancer. Sabine urges her friend to be at an upcoming meeting on their break.

At the meeting, Sabine organizes the details of a walk-out of the janitorial staff on Saturday, but while she's prepared a pamphlet for the tourists to explain, Genet states that the tourists don't care as they are only here to take a selfie with the Mona Lisa, not worry about French health care. Sabine reminds her friend that it's a national walk-out, but Genet doesn't see the point as "we'll be on the news and the government will keep on screwing us as usual." Annoyed, Sabine states that Genet's negativity isn't helpful, and she needs to be engaged. Everyone's phones go off with an alert which someone suggests is probably another bomb threat, meaning that they'll be stuck at the Louvre for awhile.

After knocking out a Gurrier and stealing a horse, Carol rides towards the exit, but she finds it blocked by a large number of Guerriers led by Sabine, forcing her to surrender.

Sabine leads Carol to Genet's office where Rèmy and Julien are sitting, Rèmy having betrayed Carol in exchange for the return of his husband. Genet states that information is a commodity and Rèmy apologizes to Carol as this was the only way that he could think of to save Julien, guessing that she would've done the same thing for Daryl. Genet tells the two men that Sabine will take them both back to Paris and drop them wherever they like, and they leave with Sabine.

The Power of the Living convoy drives out onto the tide lands near the Nest and stops at a distance that's close, but far enough away to avoid detection. Sabine is concerned that the plan is rushed, but Genet just instructs her to make sure that everyone is ready. Genet tells Carol that they're rallying the troops and to stay close as this is history. Dozens of people gather and Genet tells the selectees that they have been chosen for this mission as they are about to become her most devoted, most ferocious, and most devoted fighting unit. Genet salutes them and offers her deepest gratitude as so many years of research, patience and commitment have brought them to this day. Right here and now they will be making the noblest sacrifice as they crush the Union's tyranny of false hope. In the name of liberty, equality and fraternity they will be remembered as heroes.

"Le Paradis Pour Toi"[]

At dawn, Sabine and Dr. LaFleur visit Losang and Jacinta in the Nest's jail. Sabine reveals that Genet is dead, killed by the American. Losang takes the fact that Genet went after Laurent and died as proof that God is on the Union's side. Sabine tells Losang that Genet's way wasn't enough, but neither is Losang's, leading Jacinta to ask what happens now.

Now the leader of both the Union of Hope and the remnants of Genet's people, Losang leads the Guerriers into a gathering of the Nest's surviving inhabitants and announces that all is forgiven. Losang welcomes the Power of the Living into the Union of Hope, declaring "let us merge our dreams for a better, stronger future. Ahead is the promised land. Laurent will take us there. Let's find the child."

"Vouloir, C'est Pouvoir"[]

Sabine will appear in this episode.

"Au Revoir Les Enfants"[]

At an abandoned mental institution, Fallou calls for Stéphane who finds his friend held captive by two Power of the Living Guerriers in the hallway while a third one disarms Stéphane from behind. Sabine reveals herself, demanding to know where the plane is. Stéphane tries to get Sabine to let it go as the cause is dead, but Sabine reveals that the cause is not dead because Jacinta will see the prophecy fulfilled. Fallou states that Daryl's Group is gone by now, but Sabine states that they have been watching, and no plane has flown in the last 2 days. Although Fallou insists that they don't know where it is because Daryl and the others never said, Sabine suspects that Stéphane does know and threatens to kill Fallou if he doesn't talk. Suddenly, the two Guerriers holding Fallou captive are shot from behind with arrows by Akila, forcing Sabine to flee as Stéphane overpowers the third Guerrier and stabs him to death with the bayonet on the man's Flintlock Pistol. Taking a grenade from the dead man, Stéphane states that they must warn Daryl, and he actually does know where the plane is.

In Paris, vehicles surround Anna's car and Guerriers and Union of Hope soldiers emerge, guns drawn on Anna, a dancer, and their driver. Anna gets out and is greeted by Jacinta whom she remembers from the Demimonde. "You came with a man and left alone," Anna quips. Jacinta wants the same thing that Losang wanted, but Anna's no more willing to help the other woman than she was Losang. Jacinta has one of her Guerriers shoot Anna's driver before a Union soldier beats him to death, but Anna is unmoved. Jacinta knows that Daryl's group has an airplane, and threatens to have Sabine blow off the dancer's face next if Anna doesn't help her, but again Anna refuses, simply stating that this is why she doesn't make friends and she doesn't give without getting something good in return. What Anna really wants is to go home, back where her people are, so she offers Jacinta a deal: help Jacinta to find the boy in exchange for Anna getting the plane and the pilot which Jacinta accepts.

Sabine, Jacinta, and their forces arrive outside of the stadium entrance to the Hippodrome and Anna explains that the plane is on the other side near the race track and Daryl's group won't see them coming this way. Jacinta leaves some men to cover the entrance in case of an escape attempt and Anna leads the others inside before and tells Jacinta that they need to go through the garage which will lead them to the track.

Anna leads Sabine and the others through the gate into the second section of the parking garage, eying an emergency exit as they pass by it. Hearing the sounds of the undead, Anna smiles and, having led Jacinta's forces into a trap, makes a break for the exit. A herd of burners fall upon them as they retreat, devouring three Union soldiers and Jacinta being bitten on the arm. Sabine and the others retreat as Anna is devoured alive by the undead in the garage. She and the soldiers head outside where the airplane attempts to take off. They engage in a battle with Daryl, Codron, and Fallou in which several Union soldiers and Guerriers are killed. After the plane successfully takes off, both sides stop firing, the battle coming to an end now that Laurent and Ash have escaped. Everyone watches as the plane flies overhead, on its way to America and Daryl and Laurent wave goodbye to each other. Bitten and devastated at having lost Laurent, thus leaving her with nothing left to live for, Jacinta puts her gun beneath her chin and kills herself.

While Sabine survived the battle, her fate is ultimately unknown as she and the other soldiers leave the race track. It's possible that Sabine took full control of the remnants of the Power of the Living, or that the deaths of three of its leaders along with the deaths or desertion of most of its soldiers caused the organization to fall apart for good.
