Lilly Caul on Sarah:
- "A skinny tomboy in a faded denim jumper and down vest with big inquisitive blue eyes, fifteen-year-old Sarah, the whip-smart ringleader of the four sisters."
Nothing is known about Sarah's life prior to or as the outbreak began, except that she lived with her parents and three sisters.
While in Tent City, Lilly Caul watched over her and her siblings. When an unknown car was heard in the distance, she hid inside the circus tent with her mother and sisters. The car was later revealed to be driven by Bob Stookey.
While Lilly is babysitting them, a small horde of walkers attacks the camp. Sarah, her sisters, and Lilly are attacked inside the tent but manage to make it out alive, even after it collapses on top of them. Sarah and Lilly then rush off to the closest car with the young girls. Sarah manages to get Lydia and Mary inside but soon finds herself surrounded. She runs back toward the tent but is overcome by at least a dozen zombies.
A funeral service is later held for Sarah and the other fifteen survivors that died during the attack. Lilly and her father do not attend the funeral. Joshua Hamilton attempts to speak at Sarah's funeral but is overcome by his emotions and leaves. Chad later attacks Lilly over Sarah's death, causing Joshua to kill him.
