Almost nothing is known about Satchmo's life before the outbreak, he lived at Charlene's house and likely lived the normal life of a cat.

During the outbreak Satchmo was in his box at his owner Charlene Wilson's house. While Mrs. Wilson hid in the car cinema, Satchmo was still in his cat carrier at her house. Mrs. Wilson asked Daryl Dixon to go to her house and rescue Satchmo and bring him to her. Due to Mrs. Wilson refusing to go with Daryl, she and Satchmo stay at the cinema, so his current fate is unknown.

Satchmo is Mrs. Wilson's pet cat. She was worried about what happened to Satchmo. Later, when Daryl saved the cat, she and her cat stayed in the house.
