Season 6 is an upcoming season of AMC's Fear The Walking Dead. On July 19, 2019, Scott Gimple announced the show was renewed for a sixth season.[1] Production of the season started on November 27, 2019. Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg will continue as showrunners for the third consecutive season.

Plot

"We're going to follow our characters on a very different journey — a far darker one — in Season 6 and that required them to face, not just an adversary who views the world in a way contrary to everything our heroes fought for this season, but also to find themselves in positions where their belief in the benevolent world they were fighting for will be challenged at every turn. The answer ultimately lied in having Virginia separate everyone, sending them to different corners of her apocalyptic domain. Our characters all find themselves in some of the lowest places we've ever seen them and the question that we'll carry forward into Season 6 — aside from the obvious question surrounding whether or not Morgan will live or die — is whether our characters will be able to hold onto this growth under Ginny's rule, whether they'll backslide, or whether they'll become versions of themselves we've yet to see."

  • Christine Evangelista will reprise her role as Sherry this season, as confirmed on the official The Walking Dead page.
  • Unlike previous years, and the original show, this season will run through all 16 episodes without a mid-season break.
  • Kim Dickens who portrayed the protagonist Madison Clark from Season 1 to Season 4 has recently stated that, "You can be gone like that. And you can also pop up at some time, at any time." suggesting a possible return for her character in Season 6.
  • Due to the coronavirus pandemic, AMC shut down the filming in March for this season, although the show was half-way through the filming.[2]
