Shane should lead the group[]
Merle/Maggie: Maggie is beside herself with grief over the death of her father and blames Merle. "You might as well have killed by father yourself," Maggie seethes. "What're you talkin' about, little girl," Merle responds, genuinely confused. "The biters got your old man, not me." "And where were you?" Maggie screams. "You didn't lift a finger to help him!"
Rick/Shane can choose to either defend Merle out of guilt over Hershel's death or to sympathize with Maggie.
Handcuff Merle[]
Save Beth/Maggie should accompany Shane[]
Shane should lead the group[]
T-Dog/Beth: Beth sits in a corner alone, shaking with grief over the death of her father. T-Dog approaches her gently, intending to comfort her. However, when he gets near, Beth turns on him in a rage. "Leave me alone," she cries. "You killed him. All of you. We'd still have a farm if we hadn't taken you in. I wish you'd never come. Never!" T-Dog holds his hands in the air. "Whoa, whoa, Beth," he says calmly. "I just came to see what I could do for you." "You can't do that, you can't do anything for me," Beth states. "Go away!"
Rick/Shane can choose to either defend T-Dog or to sympathize with Beth.
Beth should accompany Shane[]
Retrieve the medical equipment[]
Maggie/Lori: An aggravated Maggie appears with Lori on her heels. "You didn't have the right," shouts Lori. "You're over-reacting," Maggie replies. "I was just showin' Carol how it works. Same as my daddy showed me when I was his age." "I decide when he's ready to learn how to use a rifle," Lori replies with frustration. "Not you or anyone else." "If not now, when, Lori?" Maggie raises her arms in frustration. "In case you haven't noticed, the world ended!" Lori stares daggers into her. "Just stay away from my son!"
Rick/Shane can choose to either defend Maggie or to side with Lori.
Rick should lead the group[]
Glenn/Hershel: Hershel is talking to Glenn, away from the group. "I'm just looking after my daughter," Hershel tells Glenn. "I'm not convinced yet that you're the right man for Maggie." "Haven't I proven myself yet?" Glenn pleads. "I put my butt on the line for this group every day, and I would do anything to protect Maggie. I love her, Hershel, I really do!" "Perhaps some day, when you're a father, you'll understand, Hershel says. "No man is good enough for your girl until one is." Glenn stands firm. "I'm not going anywhere, Hershel, I'll prove it to you: I'm the one that is."
Rick can choose to either vouch for Glenn to Hershel or to urge Glenn to give Hershel time.
