"Smitty" (real name unknown) is a character and an antagonist first encountered in Issue 48 of Image Comics' The Walking Dead. He is a resident of Woodbury and a member of the Woodbury Army.

Made To Suffer

Smitty takes part in the prison assault. He survives the first attack and retreats along with the rest of the militia. When Hershel and Billy Greene start to make a run for the prison vehicles parked along the west side of the grounds, Smitty and two other soldiers open fire. Smitty shoots Billy with a direct headshot and is immediately stunned. The Governor walks over and asks him what his problem is. Smitty cries and feels immensely guilty for shooting a boy. Philip speaks calmly to Smitty asks him how many of their own soldiers that boy killed with his rifle? And that he should be proud that he killed him while giving him a gentle shove. He tells Smitty that this isn't over yet and to get himself together.

After killing Billy, Smitty was very upset and immediately started mourning and regretting his actions towards Billy.
