Spain (officially the Kingdom of Spain) is a country in Europe. Barcelona, its second largest city, serves as the primary setting of The Walking Dead: The Alien.

Pre-Apocalypse

Prior to the outbreak, Spain was the fourth largest country in Europe and the sixth most populous, with a population of 42 million people. It was also one of the larger economies in Europe.

Post-Apocalypse

Although only a glimpse of the outbreak is shown in Spain, it seems that the country has become overrun with the undead, indicating that the outbreak was indeed global. As mentioned by Jeff Grimes, the Spanish government attempted to contain the outbreak by locking down all international transport and erecting national quarantines, leaving Jeff stranded in a foreign country.

Trivia

  • Spain is the only country besides the US to appear in the Comic Series.
