Kal has not been since the Battle of Hilltop in 10x11 and 10x12. So chances are that he died during that fight.

Kal has not been seen since the Battle of Hilltop against the Whisperers. So isn't there a chance he died during that battle together with Alex, Brianna, Troy and Quan?

Yes, but the reason Alex, Quan, and Brianna were labelled as deceased is because they were seen just a couple days or (in quan's case) during the battle and since then have not been seen or mentioned, so it's safe to assume they're dead. Kal on the other hand, hadn't been seen for nearly a year in the show's timeline so there's too much of a gap between the battle and his last appearance to safely assume he's dead. -- Dorm
