Theresa is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead. She was a resident of the Kingdom, who later moved to the Hilltop Colony following the Kingdom's fall. Months after the Hilltop's subsequent destruction, she moved to the Commonwealth.
Nothing is known about Theresa's life prior to or as the outbreak began.
At some point in the apocalypse, Theresa joined a community called the Kingdom.
Theresa is among the Kingdommers to gather in the center of town and listen to Ezekiel's speech about his confidence in the militia. She smiles as she listens and cheers with the other townspeople. When Ezekiel, Carol, and Jerry return to the Kingdom later that day, Theresa gathers with the other townspeople and is saddened by the loss of the Kingdom army.
Theresa is among the townspeople rounded up by Gavin and his Saviors as they search for Ezekiel. When Ezekiel rams the school bus creating a diversion, Theresa flees the Kingdom with the rest of the residents to the designated safe house.
Theresa is among the Kingdommers to have evacuated to the Hilltop Colony. She rests and sits outside while chatting with another woman.
Theresa is among the civilians to take shelter inside the Barrington House as the Saviors attack Hilltop. That night, she is among the residents and refugees to survive the outbreak that occurred due to the Saviors' tainted weapons infecting and turning several people.
At Hilltop, Theresa helps another woman with laundry duty.
In the Kingdom, Theresa is among the townspeople working in the crop fields.
Theresa is among the Kingdom's residents to help prepare the town for the Harvest Festival where travelers from Alexandria, Hilltop, and Oceanside would be visiting for a fair. When the generators are fixed and turned on, she and other townspeople cheer at the accomplishment.
Theresa watches from the crowd as Ezekiel declares they've finally accomplished Rick, Carl, and Jesus' dreams of reuniting the communities. "Let the fair of a new beginning begin!" Ezekiel says as everyone celebrates and applauds. Theresa then enjoys the fair and socializes with the people of the Coalition. That night, Theresa attends the theater and watches the movie with other fair attendees.
The next day, Theresa listens from the crowd as Siddiq delivers the tragic news about the fate of the missing fair attendees, tells them how brave the victims were in their final moments and how he was intentionally kept alive to tell this very story. He encourages everyone to remember the fallen as brave heroes and to honor them.
Although unseen, Theresa is among the refugees to move to Hilltop after the Kingdom was abandoned due to further deterioration and destruction as a result of rot and fires in the buildings.
Theresa walks around Hilltop as the convoy from Alexandria arrives to town. When the Whisperers and their horde attack the Hilltop at night, Theresa remains inside the Barrington House for shelter.
Theresa is among the Hilltop refugees to evacuate to the abandoned hospital referred to as the "Tower". She helps prepare supplies and equipment in the face of the impending Whisperer attack on the hospital. When the Whisperers eventually break into the hospital, Theresa and the others are evacuated safely from the hospital via the elevator shafts and basement tunnels. After Beta and the Whisperers are wiped out, the remaining survivors congregate in the woods where the injured are treated and families are reunited.
Theresa is among the Alexandria residents to move to the city in the Commonwealth as their town is being rebuilt. She enjoys the Halloween festivities in the main plaza and cheers on during the children's costume contest.
Theresa is at the Commonwealth Hospital awaiting her appointment as Ezekiel is in the same examining room being tended to by Dr. Okumura and Theo. A nurse enters the room and speaks with Theresa before exiting. Upon hearing the news that Ezekiel was approved for his surgery, Theresa was happy and shared a smile with her friend.
Theresa has developed appendicitis and she requires an appendectomy to save her life. However, Theresa can't afford the treatment at the Commonwealth Hospital and she refuses to put her family into debt by trying to get it so Ezekiel seeks the help of Dr. Tomi Okumura to treat her in secret. After initially refusing due to the dangers, Tomi ultimately decides to help Theresa.
Ezekiel leads Tomi to a secret clinic that he has set up at his new job where Tomi begins operating on Theresa with Theo's help. However, Theresa's appendix bursts in the middle of the surgery and Tomi sends Theo back to the hospital for more antibiotics for her. With the help of Ezekiel and Carol, Tomi successfully removes Theresa's burst appendix.
After stitching Theresa back up, Tomi tells Ezekiel and Carol that they will know more over the next 24 hours, but that it looks good for Theresa.

- The character was named after the actress who portrays her, Terri Joe Kennedy.
- The extra was personally picked by Khary Payton to portray the appendicitis patient as he wanted her to "represent the Kingdom for Ezekiel. She's this precious thing that somehow survived" the undead apocalypse, the war against the Saviors, the fall of the Kingdom and later Hilltop, the Whisperer conflict, and the storm that ravaged Alexandria only to end up sick in the Commonwealth.
