• Welcome to the Critics Club, a place to post all your general bitching about the show. If you want to discuss Daryl's immortality, Beth's unimportance, or the abomination that was Laurie Holden's character (I refuse to call her by the proper name), then this is the place to go. Enjoy :D

    • What they should have done in the TV series is have Laurie Holden die in season 1 instead of Amy, and have Amy fill out Andrea's role in the comics (and escape the Governor).  That way you shock the fans early saying from the beginning "no one is safe,", but you still have a character to fill comic Andrea's role.

    • Sasha should've gotten the sniper scene in Too Far Gone instead of Daryl's walker-shield scene.

    • I actually thought the tank scene with him was fitting, but the walker-shield was overkill.

The fact that he destroyed a tank proves that AMC will never kill him as he's their cashcow.

But why did it have to be Daryl?

    • I was hoping that the walker bit Daryl but he hid it from Beth and he get kidnapped by the hunters and he can say the tainted meat line.

Oh, just wait, Abraham, Jesus, or Negan will become a cashcow and Daryl will be insignificant by then. And hopefully dead too.

    • Kirkman should be ashamed of his abysmal writing, especially the scene when Carl talked in this nasty way to an unconscious Rick. That was way over the top and made Carl look like a conceited idiot (which doesn't match his character in the previous episodes of the same season). No wonder that many people hate Carl and want him to perish.

I bet Ty will get Abe's death and Abe will get Glenn's. Daryl will always reign supreme.

    • I know this is a bit off topic but, I feel that Darabont ruined the show even after he wasn't the showrunner. Some of his creative decisions affected everything, sadly.

Abysmal writing? Did you and I watch the same thing. Carl yelling at him made total sense. Rick was supposed to be the leader, and he lost the prison. Not to mention he thinks everyone they know is dead because of that, and that Rick is being a total dick to him right now. "Carl! Slow down!" "Carl! Stay close!" I told you not to!" Carl is taking his anger out in this scene. Not to mention all the other amazing scenes taken from the comic and the great Michonne scenes.

    • Woops, forgot to complain about something. I HATE the season 3 finale. Nothing about it makes sense. Awful character decisions, plot holes, and really? Andrea couldn't get out of that chair?

That and she spent like an hour talking to Milton.

Maybe while they smoking crack, they had a vision that if they didn't write episodes as quickly as they could, they would get devoured by zombies. With Glen Mazzara as the show runner that season, he would do anything to get these writers juiced.

    • They absolutely ruined Andrea. Laurie Holden was a good actress but her consistent whining about how "everybody had to be safe" was so irritating. Especially when (R.I.P.) Hershel listened to her complain to the Governor. She whined to him saying the Governor was a bad person, making Hershel want her to come back, and then leaves with the Governor

    • Season 3 was a mess for me. That's when I started saying no to Rick's character, and Carl's "I got this don't worry" attitude.

    • Season 1: Acting and dialogue was a bit meh, but other than that, it was flawless

Season 2: Sophia plot line dragged out, well, the entire farm story liner was dragged out. Mazzara should've let Jeffrey Demunn back on the show, acting and dialogue did improve though.

Season 3: Andrea's storyline was fucked, several characters from the comics were shat on by Mazzara, The Governor was severely watered down, the midseason premiere sucked, and it had the shows worst episodes, prey and welcome to the tombs. But I liked season 3 a lot more than most people.

Season 4: Best season in my opinion. Great dialogue, and good acting for the most part. Great blend of quality storytelling, action, and character development. The governors episodes were great episodes by themselves, but not quite as good in terms of serving to the story. Too far gone could've been so much better, but was still a fantastic episode. Carol and Hershel had the best character arcs of the season, and others including Rick, Carl, Maggie, Daryl, Glenn, and Tara all had some fairly good ones. The second half had a few excellent episodes, but some episodes felt rather lifeless, and the plot advancement was too slow. But I am amazed at how much each of the actors improved throughout the seasons.
