• I genuinly want to protect her although other players find her annoying I hope sarah is ok. Then again im thinking she dies her death is the only thing that could illicit an emotional responce from the audience at this point so maybe she dies. I blame her father for sheltering her had lee done that with clem she would be dead now.

    • Telltale probably killed Carlos because it may want to force Sarah to start living more independently/not sheltered anymore. In addition it seems like every character has a point during the game where the shit hits the fan for them. Sarah's moment when the shit hit the fan was when her dad died in front of her. By looking at the achievements for "Amid the Ruins", it looks like Sarah is on her knees and is sad, so the group will find her somewhere outside the herd.

    • When I played In Harm's Way I felt upset when Carlos died. He was one of my favourite characters in game along with Luke, Clementine and Kenny. I think that Telltell may have had Carlos die to show that the world has really gone to ruin and that Sarah has lost her only protection from the outside world. I say she will need to learn how to use a gun and learn how to survive in this world gone to ruin fast or she may die. When I first saw Sarah I thought about Chuck's advice to Lee. That you are not big or strong, weak or small. You are alive or you are dead. Sarah is struggling to cope with the walkers but she will soon need to learn. Much like Clementine did.

    • Chuck is the smartest man I ever met. If he didn't give Lee the advice about teaching Clem how to survive, Clem would have died, know what I mean? The children must learn how to survive.

Chuck: You gotta consider her a living person, that's it! You are either living or you're not?  You ain't little, you ain't a girl, you ain't a boy, you ain't strong or smart, you're ALIVE.

    • That's why I never lie Clementine. I always told her truth, even if it was brutal. To prepare her for life in apocalypse. This Carlos pretty messed up.

    • They probably killed Carlos to force Sarah to grow up and survive, or to alternatively have a clean way of killing off that entire family -- unless she toughens up FAST, Sarah will probably not survive long on her own. She was too sheltered to effectively learn how to survive.

I agree with this so much and also Chuck saved Clementine's life at the start of Around Every Corner when Ben abandoned Clementine. I really miss Chuck and I do not think he should have died.

Chuck is like Pete, Walter and Reggie and both died so early. Why does Telltale kill nice guys so early?

I can't remember which thread it was, but someone was asking this exact thing.

Someone pointed out that a "nice guy" just won't last as long in the apocolypse because they might not be "tough" enough to take out the threat or do what's right [in the situation]. For example, Chuck was pretty gruff, but as you got to know him, he was revealed to be a really cool and fairly nice guy (such as giving candy to Clem and Ben, and then giving you a good wake-up call about Clem's safety). If he hadn't done the "nice thing" and saved Clem, he would have made it out of the mini-Herd that was threatening her.

Chuck and Pete were also older (like, not ancient, but not young either), which could be another reason they died early on for their introduction. You also have to remember that they lived a LONG time in the apocolypse, even if we didn't know them for that long (Chuck for many months; Pete for a year or two after the events of the first game). Reggie wasn't really THAT nice; he was actually a little selfish and awkward (understandable, since he had lost an arm and was left behind by his group). Walter's boyfriend/husband/"friend" (I think that's how he's described to Clem) died earlier in the same episode, and Walter was VERY torn up about it. If Carver hadn't killed him, he might have sought a different way to end his life, since the most important part of it [for him] was no longer there.
