• my reasons

    1. The producers said that it would be a long-running character. Daryl has been in the show for 6 seasons, if that is not long-running then i don't know what it is.

    2. Glenn already faced a near-death situation in the season. It would be extremely dull to kill him when he ALREADY faced death in the same frickin season.

    3. Also, Negan kills Glenn in the comics. WAAAY too predictable, and even the fans that didn't read the comics know that by know.

The only POSSIBLE characters are Daryl and Glenn, because:

    1. They are the only long running main characters still alive, with the exception of Maggie, Carol and Morgan, BUUTT we all know that Carol wasn't chosen because she wasn't in the group, Maggie was confirmed not to be the victim directly by Gimple and Morgan was not even there when the sorting took place.

    2. Yes, Rick and Carl, i know, but Negan's quote("cut the boy's other eye out and feed it to his father") makes it clear that they weren't chosen.

    3. As i said before, killing Glenn would be dull. Reasons already given.

why does it have to be a major character? It's the show ffs

    • Pretty much stated by the producers.

    • I think it might as well be Abraham. He's just got himself together after Washington fiasco and he even started thinking about actually living not only surviving. Stuff like that are usually the sign that the death is coming for you in WD universe. Look at Denisse, Noah and Beth. Daryl's character seems "undone", and I believe he has more stories to tell. But it's just my opinion.

    • I agree with Tyanne, it's more likely to be Abraham, he's completed his story arc and watching him try to woo Sasha for a season isn't an entertaining prospect. Note that Abraham died in the comics shortly after breaking up with Rosita. Denise took his death, but that in no way makes Abe safe. On another note, the show is entertaining a rivalry betwen Daryl and Dwight. You can be that they'll either make peace, or one of them will the other. Another tiny thing, probably inconsequential but I noticed it anyway, is that Glenn, Daryl, Maggie and a few others aren't looking entirrely well, meaning they can't take Lucille "like a champ".

    • Rick, Daryl, and Glenn are all safe from the bat (Glenn may possibly be dead in S.7) Abraham and Eugine might be the ones to eat the bat Eugene's story arc is finished (what else can he do except solve the entire apocalypse that might not happen at all) vs Abraham(died shortly before this event even happened).

    • Id be suprised if Eugene was killed because he is argueably the most important character at this part of the story due to the fact that he creates the bullets for the groups war with Negan, unlike other comic book characters there isnt really anyone who could take Eugenes place doing that so in my opinion hes probably the safest of all the characters. Honestly I think its Abraham because of the fact that Negan doesnt want to seem racist in the comics and only reluctantly chooses Glenn, here we have Abraham who has reached the end of his story and fits perfectly with the type of person Negan would kill.

    • While I think it is not beyond the writers and producers to kill off a fan favourite such as Daryl, I dont think they have a death wish. I honstly think it will be Glenn. Saying things like "he nearly died last season, so he wont nearly die this season" are the sort of things that make me think "Yeah, he wont NEARLY die, he will REALLY die."

His story arc is complete as far as I can see-- he went from been a lowly supply runner to one of the most important members of the group. We see his confidence grow, he developes a romatic relationship with Maggie and they married with a child on the way (so his death will be that more poinent), and he is the only main character NOT to have developed a killer instinct, he is the only truly good person left from the original group, the only one who wont compromise on his morals.

In other words- the type of person who is ripe for the chopping block
