• How confident are we in this source (http://www.ibtimes.com/fear-walking-dead-season-4-ruben-blades-daniel-salazar-returning-2671341) that Daniel is alive?

I'm not advocating to change his status to Dead, I just think Unknown might be more appropriate.

Source validity aside, do we think we'll see Morgan and crew running into Daniel Salazar in Texas?

Were he to appear in flashbacks, that'd best be accomplished through Nick, the last person we saw with him, but that's not so much a viable route anymore.

    • After Nick, Daniel was by far my favorite character on the show. However after recent events, I wouldn't be surprised if he decides to leave too. Daniel and Morgan just don't work together on paper, so I definitely don't wanna see that on screen. Strand and Daniel really haven't liked each other since they met, and I'm not interested in them changing that for the sake of Daniel rolling with the main crew again. Daniel has lost his wife, daughter, closest thing he had to a son (Nick/Chris), and the closest things he had to friends outside of the main group (Lola and Efrain). Personally I don't want him to come back. I'm much more content knowing that he's somewhere out in the vast expanse carving out a life as a secluded badass, than for them to have to bring him back because of popularity, only to kill him because he doesn't really have any story left.

Him wanting to leave means they pretty much HAVE to kill him though, so it's really not looking good IMO. It's hard to care about what happened after the Dam anymore, considering that both Nick and Madison are dead now. Even moreso considering that the mid-season finale implies that they all got separated AGAIN somehow before beginning their new semblance of a life at the stadium. I have no idea how Daniel would fit into ANY of this.

      You make a compelling argument.

    • I kind of want Daniel to come back on the one hand, but after everything at the Dam, I wouldn't want it to be that he comes back then kills and replaces Victor.

That would be a terrible mistake!

    • I've seen numerous sources telling us that he's still alive and he'll eventually pop up this season, but it's been 15 episodes and we have absolutely nothing. Not even Nick, Luciana, Madison, Victor or Alicia have ever brought him up in any conversation by name or recent events. Now there's just 1 last episode left happening next week for this season, so either all of these sources were bogus and kept people's hopes up for nothing for almost a year, or this show is going to be left on a cliffhanger that will finally be confirming the fate of Daniel Salazar.

I mean damn, was the guy even name-dropped this season?!?? Suppose I can't be all that suprised, they've killed off just about everyone who had a noteworthy relationship with him. All we've really got left are:

Alicia - She and Ofelia had a bond, but her and Daniel never really interacted much. Daniel and Nick were relatively close, so maybe they can bond over that now? Idk.

Strand - These two could have really developed an interesting dynamic with one another, where Daniel learns to eventually see past Strand's cowardice and appreciate his ability to survive. Strand in turn could have learned from Daniel how to steel his resolve and become a more capable fighter. I feel like there's no hope for that now since Strand A) SHOT HIM and B) Was responsible for the ordeal with the Proctors that led to the dam needing to be blown in the first place. As far as Daniel is concerned Strand is a snake who doesn't deserve to be trusted. I don't think it's possible for these two to co-exist in one group if Daniel comes back.

So yeah.....even for Season 5 I'm still having trouble seeing where Daniel would fit into things. At the end of the day I'm honestly kinda glad though that they kept him out of the fuckery that was this season.

Good analysis. Luciana, despite being in two of the same seasons, never even met the guy too.

    • Maybe he’s chilling with Proctor John, Alex, and Tobias.
