• So, Skybound announced 'The Walking Dead: Typhoon' like a week ago, and announced six other novels exploring other areas of the world To come out in the years to come. Here's the game -

    1) pitch a walking dead story set in your country. What makes it different? Who would be the focus on? How would you make the most of your county's unique attributes

🇬🇧 For myself, I think my home country of the UK would actually be a pretty cool location. I think I'd focus on the prime minister. Britain is often associated with its men-in-suits politics, and I think the secret service protecting the PM as the country falls would make for a great story. Political drama is something TWD has never done, so I'd like to see an up-tight and unlike politician get their perspective changed after having to live with a bunch of tag-alongside in their makeshift group. For influences, think James Bond, Black Mirror (ep 1), the bodyguard etc etc. We'd probably start in London to get in the famous landmarks, before straying off into the cotunryside.

    Or

    2) if you live in the US, pick a country you think would make a unique settting and pitch a story around that.

🇳🇵 I think a really cool premise could be Everest. A group of survivors struggle to get home as they face the elements, and the people dying begin turning. We can explore a new climates, the climbers all coming from different places, and the locals believing in a spiritual reasoning for the apocalypse. I'd read that.

    • I'm from Croatia, but I can't really place a story in it at the moment. So instead, I'd like the setting to be a cruse ship in the Mediteranian. It would involve a group of survivors facing the outbreak on a cruise ship and being forced to fight or manuver their way around the undead to get to the bridge, in hopes of stopping the ship before it runs aground or crashes into another ship. Plan B would be escaping on a life-boat, but since none of the survivors know where they are they decide to try to make it to the bridge instead. They wouldn't have a lot of weapons at hand, so I think it would be interesting. They would make it to the bridge in the end, but a storm runs the ship aground somewhere in North Africa. Now they must find refuge in a strange, inhospitable, and often hostile land. This is just off the top of my head.

    • I'm in America so I guess I would choose Japan for one of the books. We follow a family in Toyko who have to escape the overun city because the government has decided to nuke the city to stop the infection. Since it's in Toyko Japan, there aren't alot of weapons but there's alot of jumping between buildings and parkour to avoid the walkers. The family escapes the city by a helicopter but are forced to leave one member behind because there's not enough room. The book ends with them finding themselves in a strict military facility.

You'd have the Japanese nuke themselves after being nuked twice? You absolute madman :D (also feel the need to point out that Japan doesn't have nukes)

I was going for an Aliens or Resident Evil thing.

🇯🇵 If I set one In Japan, it would have be called The Walking Dead: The Last Samurai, and have an up-tight and nerdy man, obsessed with his office job, slowly lose control and as his friends and family are picked off. He finds himself fleeing into the mountains, where a group of survivors have adopted the old ways of the samurai.

    • Oh god, as a Belgian (I'm from Belgium, you know, that little country in between Germany, the UK, the Netherlands and France that Donald Trump called a CITY while calling our capital a hellhole), we'd get overrun in like 2 days xD

We literally got defeated in WWII in two weeks

And I can't say many of my people would survive with the amount of brain cells they lack (Yes, I know what I'm saying. Mean, but kinda the truth lol)

Our whole Government is a mess, can't focus on them. I mean that!

The most interesting story would be a random civilian trying to flee with his family or something.

    • Sorry for the revival but a story set in the UK, would be cool, but I'm thinking mostly because we could see the Queen's royal guards killing roamers and stuff which would be awesome.
