• Just somehow sad that the show seems to have forgotten all the original chatracters, with the new ones (Magna, Yumiko, Luke, Lydia) having no way to relate to the previous events and tragedies.

    • I mean, in their world its been like 7 years or something since Glenn died and probably long over 10 years since characters like Shane, Dale, Merle, Hershel, etc have died.

It’s only natural that the older characters move on from stuff like that, even if they still remember them.

    • Tbh it’s fine IMO. Not everything needs to connect to Glenn or older characters. The characters have moved on so it’s time for the fans to as well.

I disliked the timeskip in season 9 for this very reason. Somehow Glenn's death felt just like it flew by, not being as major of a theme in season 7 and 8 as it should have been. There should have been a funreal where the whole group would be together or some sort of goodbye. It still feels unfinished. Abraham, Dale and Hershel got their resolutions.

I still hope that Maggie and Glenn will have some sort reunion in during the end of the series, which felt missing in the comics, whether dream or afterlife, like Sasha and Abe in 7x16. Plus with Negan going to get away with it.

      I think you are right.

For Glenn its been 7 years, also Abraham, Sasha, and Carl.

Probably 10 years without Dale, Shane, Lori, Merle, Andrea

Probably 9 years without Hershel, Beth, Tyreese, and Bob.

Also 6 years since Rick disappeared.

    • Michonne mentioned Rick in 10x04, and Ezekiel mentioned Benjamin in 10x04. That was nice.

Maggie and Glenn were kinda soulmates, and he did promisde he's find her during his death, so I of course hope there will be something more. I mean I expect that we all want a Gleggie-reunion in the end. I really disliked her comic-story and hoped it would be different on tv, especially how precious they were during the early parts of the show.

Plus I'm dissapointed that she'll be back full-time in seaosn 11, since I hoped Lauren would pursue bigger and better things. I actually liked Whiskey Cavalier and preffered that over TWD.

Yes, but I hope that they would all appear again in the end in some form, like in Lost. Plus Maggie without Glenn is just not right, he deserved better than most.

How would that work if they are all Deceased?

And also I forgot to mention that Philip a.k.a. the Governor has been gone for at least 9 years also, also 7 years without Spencer and Simon too. I know they weren't good guys but still did a good job on the show. And 6 years since Rick disappeared, along with Anne.

    • We just need to see the In Our Memory wall again at Alexandria lol. So we can see all the names of the deceased then we will be happy.

But maybe not because we know they are gonna forget a name or two. And that will set off an uproar lol. Like they didn't even add Betsy's name to the wall in Season 6 after she died despite them updating the wall in 6x10 SMH.

      Anyway.

Everyone who loved Spencer died before, so you could say he's in a better place now, since the death of his family was key in his fall of grace and he'w now with them again. RIck's death stll haunts Michonne, who insecure af, even though I never really buyed their relationship.

Plus the "ghosts of dead" have appeared before. It would be great if we'd see in the end our remaining survivors, and all the dead behind them as a sort of testiment of the show. Nowadays one  can even impose old footage of characters, if the actors are can't commit or are dead (like in the 50th Doctor Who).

It just seems unfitting that the show jumped so far within the span on one season, since seasons 1-8 had taken about 2,5 to 3 years. (I mean seasons 4 to 8 took part in under one year). The connection to original, better days is gone and not coming back.

And an Gleggie-afterlife was something I had hoped for would happen the moment Negan murdered him in the comics. I was so excited that Maggie woud be leaving the show, and am now saddened that she'll be returning as a regular. And I would flip out if they'd try a new love-interest in the show, 8 years or not. Why would they kill Glenn if there would be a new love anyway?

Did Seasons 4-8 take place in one year it does feel like it?

      The timeline seems very confusing.

    • I just really don’t want Glenn back honestly. Yes they were soulmates but like... idk I’m done with Gleggie.

      Cause it’s not relevant anymore.

    • If a show constantly refers to the past, then it has failed as a show. A few references to the past here and there is not a bad thing, that's for sure, but a show being based only on nostalgia is a bad thing. You want to create a show that actually has an identity. Thankfully, TWD is not like that.

I wasn't even ready for that to end, for 5 seasons it was mostly only Gleggie. Then starting in the second half of season 6 started Richonne. Which everyone kind of knew that would eventually happen at somepoint.

    • If we're going to talk about honoring the dead, we can't forget to mention the paintings of Glenn, Beth, and Hershel at Hilltop. Might be more like them elsewhere, Anne had a lot of time on her hands.

      Anne did those paintings?

    • Not sure myself, but some article said they were hers. Something about both her normal paintings and the Hilltop paintings having traits of impressionism or something.
