Ever since Angela Kang took over things have been so much better. No offence to Scott Gimple at all (some of you may forget he basically saved the show with S4/5) but they've certainly escaped the cycle that became stale in seasons 7 and 8. They've relied less on the same locations, the mid-season break, and season nine made huge sacrifices and still managed to save the show.
Season 10 has not been so great of a season, or that was at least my initial opinion. Angela Kang's seasons build. Every episode is better than the last, and like a puzzle, the show uses clever story elements and developments early on that all payoff later in the season. We've finally reached peak Walking Dead, and a lot of the elements have been paid off - and it's not even the finale. This episode felt like a finale, only we have four episodes remaining, and I can't wait to see what happens. We have a lot to look forward to:
- Michonne's final appearance and potential connection to the Rick movies.
- The reappearance of Lucille.
- Is Connie alive, or are they going to pull 'a Sophia'?
- Carol and Negan's first scene
- The appearance of the Commonwealth
- The return of Maggie
- The first appearance of the Princess
- Beta releasing the Horde
- An Episode named after the infamous Tower death
- An Episode named after Carol's infamous moment with Lizzie
- An Episode named after the volume where Andrea dies to the horde.
that's a lot of potential for four episodes! The Walking Dead is at full force again baby!
