Walking Dead Wiki

After a month long hiatus, I'm back to once again piss off the residents of the wiki, both administrators and normies alike! So in case you didn't see, my latest blog post was about Issue 167. I was absolutely bombarded with both suport and obnoxious stupidity at the same time. I recieved plenty of agreement and disagreement, but I'd like to discuss the disagreement for a moment. As TheMightyContorted pointed out in a blog post of their own, people were absolutely immature, unfair, and ridiculous in their response to my post. People attacked my icon, my name, my poetry skills(lol)...and did everything but actually formulate an argument against anything I said. They were condescending, blatant, and irrational. Of course, I expected nothing less. Hell, even an administrator of the wiki did the exact same thing. Feel free to check out my blog to see what I'm talking about. When I went to defend myself in the only way I know possible, with sarcasm and bluntness, I was blocked for a month. Here was the first sentence of the message I recieved upon being suspended:

"Guess you could say I popped right out of camdaddys butt to deliver this ban haha xd"

Don't you just love how mature the moderators of this wiki are? It's fine to be sarcastic, offensive, and "mean" so long as you agree with them. Despite the fact that I wrote my blog in the exact same way every other user does, such as multitudes of people in the past that the moderators have no problem with, I was somehow the villain for sharing my opinion simply because it offended people who didn't agree with it. Then, once I defended myself against stupid and irrelevant insults that I recieved from people who were offended, I was banned for no good reason, further proving my point about how hypocritical and immature many of the popular users, including admins, of this wiki are. Quite a few users seemed to agree with me. If any moderators are reading this, I'd love to have a chat about that.

However, just like Herpes, Cancer, Madonna, and every other indestructible disease on this planet, I'm back once again to piss people off. It's time for a return to the original blog series that started it all...

For the third time, it's time to talk about the things that TWD fans do to get on my nerves. Let's get right into it.

  • Hating Jane for No Good Reason - I understand the fact that people were more likely to choose Kenny over Jane given the chance. However, I've never quite understood why people despise her character so much. Now, there was that really stupid and illogical decision she made regarding Alvin Jr in the finale of Season 2 which started the fight between her and Kenny, but that was largely just an illogical decision that the writers made to start a conflict, even though it really didn't fit her character. Jane was logical, and overall an adept survivor that provided a great contrast to the imbalance that Kenny caused in the group. She was a loner, providing a great contrast to the group mentality that the rest of Clem's group possessed, and most importantly gave Clem a view of a different way to survive. In my opinion, she was a great, albeit flawed, character. I certainly don't think she's quite deserving of the hate she recieves.

  • Complaining About Things They Know Nothing About - This is something that I've discussed before, albeit indirectly. Here's the conversation I've had so many times before:
"HOLY SLIPPERY CLOCK UP MY ANAL CAVITY, I HATE FEAR THE WALKING DEAD SO MUCH"
"Have you watched it?"
"I ONLY WATCHED THE FIRST EPISODE BUT THAT'S OKAY BECAUSE JESUS CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN AND TOLD ME HOW THE OTHER 5675 EPISODES WERE"
"How about the novels as of late?"
"DEAR KENDRICK LAMAR ON A TRICYCLE THOSE ARE HORRIBLE. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. I CAN'T EVEN LOOK AT THEM. LORD JESUS HELP ME. not that i've actually read them or anything..."
This is the exact kind of mob mentality that never ceases to annoy the crap out of me on this wiki. Half the time I ask someone why they hate the television series, I find out that they haven't even watched it since Season 4. Half the time that I ask someone why they hate the comics lately, I find out that they quit after Issue 110. Half the time I ask someone why they hate the novels, I find out that they've never even read them. People hate what everyone else hates, and they don't seem to care about whether or not they actually know what the flying fuck they're talking about. Put simply, people can't seem to formulate thoughts of their own. I'm not saying that the novels, TV series, FTWD, or even comics are good. All I'm saying is that in order to be a part of that conversation, you need to know what you're talking about. That means you have to actually watch them. Reading blog posts and copying what other people say doesn't count.
  • Having Incredibly Unrealistic Expectations of the Video Games - Now this is a very widespread one. In just about every blog about the Game Series, there's an entire section devoted to crying about how unimportant determinant characters are. Now, I understand how frustrating it is when your choices don't seem to matter as much as you'd like them to in the game. There are some instances where it's overboard, such as the transition between S2 and S3. However, people come up with the most ridiculous shit that they want the video games to do.
"DAMNIT, WHY DIDN'T THE VIDEO GAME CREATORS LET KENNY AND JANE LIVE SO WE COULD PLAY WITH THEM IN SEASON 3?"
"WHY DOESN'T EVERY DETERMINANTLY-LIVING CHARACTER DO SUPER IMPORTANT AND RELEVANT THINGS TO THE STORY?"

Have you considered how long it would take for the creators to do something like that? As awesome as it would be for determinantly living characters to be extremely important to the story, it simply isn't realistic to expect them to spend that amount of time. It's simply not possible. Between voicing, writing, and animating, it's just not possible for them to make every determinant character have a massive amount of attention. I understand the annoyance, but throwing a tantrum about it doesn't change reality.

That's all, folks. I had more, but I figured I'd save that for Part 4 since this is getting too long as it is. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. Let me know what you think, whether in a civilized manner or an obnoxious insult flurry about the current relevance of Shrek as a meme. Both are equally entertaining.
