Verdict[]

Last Episode Recap:

Carol and her group finds a Pecan Grove and decides to stay there but soon conflicts arise as Lizzie is starting to show signs that is indeed disturbing. Carol and Tyreese discovers that Lizzie killed Mika just to show that everything will turn out just fine. The next day, Carol executes Lizzie knowing that Lizzie's unstable mentality cannot be cured or repressed. Later that night Carol admits that she killed Karen and David back at the Prison. Unexpectedly, Tyreese forgives her and both sets out the next day to reach Terminus.

The Plot Synopsis fits very well in this episode but this would probably be the weakest penultimate episode of the series so far but despite of that I still think that it is still good and miles ahead from the finale of the preceding season. The problem with "Us" is that it got overshadowed by the previous pre-finale episodes ("Wildfire", "Better Angels", and "This Sorrowful Life") so people are kinda expecting a hell of a storm and the expectations are higher. I admit that this episode did not meet my expectations but the whole episode still captivated me and there was never a dull moment while watching it. The episode went fast for me tho.

Now, Let's begin the review.

Joe's Group and the hunt

Us Len Dead

Joe's group is the best antagonistic group of the series so far.....Yes, better than the Woodburians and Miltiamen. Joe is very interesting and awesome, there is this scared feeling that reeks every time the camera is on him. The scenes of him with Daryl is getting along equally and is not an eye sore to watch especially with the rabbit scene and on the railroad where the geography makes their conversation realistic and I must say we can learn a thing or two with his "wisdom" (and that includes the outdoor-indoor cats). Tbh I don't wanna see him die in the finale because his character is someone for you to invest your interest and anticipate with. Jeff Koeber deserves my admiration for an act well done.

The other members' actors did well as well but I was really expecting to see how they killed Len in cold blood. Sure we saw them beating him up but an epic and another controversial death would make this episode accelerate my faith for Season 05!

Speaking of Daryl, Ever since "Still" Daryl has become a character that you want to keep your eyes glued on.......not in a sexual way if that's what you are thinking. I love how he struggled with Joe's group from their rules. Once the alpha dog, now he turns into that type of person who is being bossed around. That is something for us to invest interest. Hopefully, He doesn't go Super Mode once he discovers that Rick is the one that they've been searching or else all of the episodes that makes him interesting is a waste.

P.S:I still Hate you.

Though they just appeared for a few minutes, Rick and co.'s appearance is funny and feels heartwarming especially that race in the railroad tracks where it ended with Carl winning and sharing his candy bar! So sweet. Yet "I" do see the whole thing.......useless and pointless.

The Reunion

Terminus 3

Let's go with the trio first, Eugene talking with Tara is a bit off and annoying IMO but I must say Josh McDermitt playing as Mullet man is very effective in a way (was looking for a Doctor Who reference on his dialogue but dang it). Rosita speaks! Hehe I love how she said "Man up!" towards Glenn and how she argued with Abraham about stopping, ahhhh the love. and as for Abraham, I did not actually feel his presence in this episode, Nuff said.

Brakka Brakka Brakka and......Bob and Sasha are just there, that's all. There is only one thing that bothered me in this episode when it comes to Maggie, There is no traces of her with regards to Beth meaning that I fail to hear or see her ask "Where is Beth?" or something, and that cute photo taken in "Infected" being burned bothered me the most at first I thought it is a foreshadowing of her death or it may also be just pure trolling. Glenn on the other hand is I think pinned between the two cougars, Maggie and Tara.......You lucky bastard. His scenes in this episode is very well done like the fez in my head and when I said that it means that Maimer is pleased. I feel a cougar war between Tara and Maggie, I wonder what would happen once she knew that the person that is with her husband has actually something to do with her father's death and Glenn not being able to tell it and that moment when they hug each other spelt this word: AWKWARD! other than that I like Tara in this episode, though I find that some scenes of her is unnecessary, she is still a like able character. The whole tunnel scene (loved it) started scary then creepy and intense and it ended up in a heart warming reunion. Though I find each actors' wavelength as unequal to each other, every scene they do is pretty good to decent and I think that Serratos and McDermitt stood up from this group despite that they have lesser screen time and have lesser involvement in the episode.

Next Episode: Kirkman says that the episode will be "SAVAGE" and with Gimple writing it, I have hopes. I anticipate this cliffhanger they are talking about and who among the survivors won't make it to Terminus. A lot of questions like: What is "A"?, Who is Mary?, and Who will die? All of that to be answered in the finale.

Death List:

Either one of them would be good:

  • Beth - One word "Grill"
  • Judith - Grill again ( If she arrives in Terminus with Ty and Carol)
  • Tara - Another Grill ( depends )
