Different users have access to different functions of the site. While anyone can do most things on the site, including reading and editing, Administrators and Bureaucrats can access a few additional functions and can also serve as useful moderators in the community.
About Administrators
Administrators are experienced and trusted members of the Walking Dead Wiki community who have access to restricted technical features ("tools") which help with maintenance. They are also useful as moderators in community discussion and interaction.
Those seeking help can turn to an administrator for advice and information. However, administrators are not a smaller, "more powerful" subset of users, and content and policy decisions are the responsibility of the entire community.
Additional Abilities
- Delete pages, page histories, files, etc.
- Rename (move) files (these are mainly images and videos)
- Lock (protect) a page so it cannot be edited or renamed by users without administrator rights
- Block an IP address or user name from editing
- Revert bad edits more easily using a "rollback" link
- Edit the MediaWiki namespace to make changes to the interface
Administrator Tasks
As part of adminship, administrators are expected to use their abilities where it is considered necessary.
About Bureaucrats
Bureaucrats can make other users into Administrators, Bureaucrats, and Content Moderators on their respective wiki. However, they are not currently able to remove Bureaucrat access from any other bureaucrat other than themselves. One must contact one of the Community Team or the wiki's current Community Manager with full Administrator support to remove Bureaucrat access.
Admin Templates
Both Administrator positions, as well as Former Administrators, have designated templates to be used on personal administrator and former administrator user pages. The following is a list and showcase of all three templates:

Usage of Admin Templates
These templates will almost always be at the top of the page, making it simple to find whatever Administrator you need, when one is needed. Please note that only registered Administrators and Bureaucrats (and Former Administrators with the honorary former administrator template) who've been appointed by the bureaucrats can have these templates on their pages. If the template is found on any other page, it will promptly be removed and the user who placed it there will be warned. If they persist, they may be blocked for a short period of time.
Becoming An Administrator
For you to become an administrator, someone with bureaucrat access must make you one. On larger wiki, there will usually be a community page for requests, with a page name such as "Requests for Adminship". On a smaller wiki, you may simply ask on the community portal or Forum, or ask a bureaucrat directly on his/her/their message wall. If there are no active bureaucrats and you wish to become an administrator or adopt the wiki, please contact the community staff. If there are other active editors but no active bureaucrats/admins, you should first discuss with them on who should become an admin, whether it be one of you, or all of you.
For you to become a bureaucrat, you must already be an administrator beforehand. Submit a request for bureaucrat-ship in "Requests for Adminship", and all other current administrators must vote in agreement for a promotion to be handed out.

Code of Conduct: Administrators
Administrators have been entrusted with the means to maintain the overall quality of the site. With this in mind:
- Administrators have no right to authority over the content and policies of the wiki.
- The Administrators' authority is as large as the community would like it to be
- Administrators are, however, responsible for addressing disruption on the wiki by other users, including breaches of civility
- Administrators do not own the site. They cannot shut out the opinions of others
- Abuse of administrator privileges may result in the removal of user rights after community discussion
Inactivity
Administrators should remain active to assist the wiki, having been entrusted with additional user rights by its community. An active status is defined as;
- Continuing substantial contributions, defined as edits that do not include modifying user space pages
- A steady flow of such contributions, defined as editing on most days each month
- Reasonable speed in replying to messages on their wall, defined as replying before the poster of the message is forced to make an alternative consultation
- Attending admin votes whenever necessary, admins shouldn't miss more than three in a row
If an administrator continues to be inactive for a prolonged period of time, removal of user rights will be considered by an active bureaucrat based on the non-fulfillment of the activity guidelines further above. Where removal may be contentious, an active bureaucrat should also consult other community members and administrators.

Former Administrators
The following is a list of all the Wiki's Former Administrators. This list keep track of the day they were given admin powers to the day they either stepped down, were demoted for inactivity, or demoted for other reasons. It also keep track of whether or not the admin was a Bureaucrat and whether or not they're still active within the community (at least one mainspace edit within the past three months).
