Morgan's group is drawn out of the factory by a faked distress call by Logan who takes it over with his crew. Logan reveals that he drew the group out so he could take it without a fight, pointing out that he is the legal owner of the factory with Clayton dead. Logan's crew leaves the group's belongings and the boxes outside for them to collect if they wish.
In a series of flashbacks, Morgan's group uses the factory's radio to call out seeking people in need without success until Logan suddenly answers. In the present, the factory has been completely torn apart by Logan's Crew in search of something that Logan promised would be there but isn't. When Sarah returns seeking the crew's help to land the plane the rest of Morgan's group is coming on, the factory has been abandoned by all but Logan who is on his way out and tells Sarah they can have the factory.
Sarah later tells Wendell that the factory was destroyed by Logan's crew and the only thing she could find that was useful was three flares. After the landing of the plane, Logan arrives and explains that he was searching for Clayton's journal which points to the location of a place Clayton set up to deal with the problem of gas going bad.
It's revealed by June that Morgan's Group abandoned the factory because everyone that needed their help was too far away for it to be a practical base.
