Before the apocalypse, there was a plan to build a mall near a residential neighborhood in Alexandria, Virginia. As a result, a construction company began breaking ground at the site and delivering materials and work equipment to the site.
Post-Apocalypse[]
During the onset of the apocalypse, the residents of the Alexandria Safe Zone found this location and used the supplies that were left there in order to build the walls in order to protect their community from the dead and attackers.
Abraham is now working as a part of Tobin's construction crew as they are starting the process of expanding the wall. While gathering materials from the mall construction site they are attacked by numerous walkers. During the gunfire, the lookout Francine is knocked from her perch. Tobin shows a need to leave her behind, but Abraham rushes in and manages to save her life. While Francine shoots at the tail end of the herd from the safety of an excavator with an assault rifle, Abraham leads them in single file towards him and uses a tool to put down the walkers. Deciding to help them, Bruce starts shooting walkers as well and together, Abraham, Francine and Bruce put down the entire herd. Afterwards, the furious construction crew turns on Tobin and Abraham takes over, leading them in continuing their work while two lookouts keep an eye out for any more walkers.
